It is hard to believe that semester one is almost over and that the July School Holidays are upon us!! We at Professionals Cannington know how hard it can be to find something fun, exciting, inexpensive or free to do with the kids during the school holidays. So we have found a few activities and workshops that are on offer in and around the  City of Canning.

We hope that you all have a fun and enjoyable school holidays!!!!!!

Perth City Snow Land Wonderland

Have you ever wanted to build a snowman, like that on Frozen or have a snowball fight with your friends?

These school Holidays the City of Perth will take you on a journey with Frosty the Snowman and the Snow Fairy’s to an enchanted forest with falling snow to a wonderland full of white snowy experiences. You will be able to build a snowman, throw snowballs and enjoy a ride down the 40 foot snow slide during your 30 minute session!!


When: Monday 7th July – Saturday 19th July

Time: Daily from 10:30 at 30minute intervals,

with the first session at 10:30 and last session at 3:00pm

Where: Forrest Place, Perth City

Cost: FREE, but session tickets must be obtained on the day from the City Playground Marquee in Murray Street Mall, available from 9am with limited tickets per session.

Circus Joseph Ashton

These school Holidays the famous Circus Joseph Ashton will be back in Cannington!! Who doesn’t love a circus show with acrobats, bareback riders, animal trainers, clowns and trapeze artists…. we sure do and are sure you too will be amazed!

Bunnings School Holiday Workshop

What adult doesn’t love going to Bunnings?? We know the staff here at Professionals Cannington can spend hours roaming the isles at our local Bunning Stores and love participating in the many free and vast DIY workshops they have on offer. Did you know that Bunnings also offer free kids school holiday workshops? These holidays the Maddington store will conduct a different activity everyday from NAIDOC week activities to becoming a Team member for an hour to making Rocket Ships, making a Snakes & Ladders board games and making beautiful sand artwork! Be sure to check out or contact your local Bunnings store to find out what activities they will be holding these holidays.

Pollywog to Frog – Nearer to Nature

 This frog-tastic, froggy session promises to delight the kids and help them discover the journey from pollywog to frog. Your little one will hear the story about Polly Pollywog, take part in the pollywog hop and go on a pollywog hunt. They will finish the day by making their own sand art frog to take home.

Swamp Dwellers Discovery – Nearer to Nature

During this fun filled activity you will be given the chance to find and discover the wetland invertebrates that live in our community by using a scoop net and inspection trays. You will be able to learn all about their incredible features before returning them safely to their watery homes. Recommended age 7 – 12yrs.

Our drinking water in Western Australia is very precious. In this interactive activity you will make your way through the water cycle with Dewy Droplet. You will be amazed at the struggles a single drop of water faces and develop an appreciation at how precious our drinking water is  Recommended age 4 – 7 yrs.

Fungi – Fun, Facts and Fiction- Nearer to Nature

Do you find all things fungi fascinating? Have you ever wondered why bread develops mould? Then the Nearer to Nature Fungi activity is for you! You will have the chance to discover a myriad of fascinating facts about fabulous fungi in this interactive, fun activity. Check out microscopic features, make bread grow, go on a fungi hunt and finish the day by creating your own funky, fungi-coloured bandana to take home.  Recommended age 7 – 12yrs.

Awesome Animal Adventure

Does your little one love animals? Do they think that nothing is cuter than a cuddly Koala? Then the Kenwick Library is the place to be these July School Holiday for a hands-on wildlife experience.

A range of Australian bush creatures, including koalas, dingoes and snakes will be at the Kenwick Library.  Children will learn fun facts and get to hold some of these fascinating animals.

Muppets Most Wanted Air Dry Clay Workshop

Are you a Miss Piggy fan or a Kermit the Frog Fan?? These school holidays Westfield Carousel will be holding ‘Muppets Most Wanted’ air dry clay workshops, and best of all its FREE! Your little one will be able to create their own Miss Piggy or Kermit the Frog figurine out of clay, which they can take home for it to air dry.
