REIWA recently reported (11/11/2015) that the State Government forecasts- by the end of 2015 15.4% of all WA housing will be apartments and 17% of new dwellings in Perth are apartments. As witnessed in Cannington two large complexes are currently going up – Momentum Apartments located 16 -18 Cecil Ave, Cannington and Bella Vita Apartments located 21 – 23 Lake Street, Cannington. Several small two to four level apartment complexes are being created and sold off the plan.
On Thursday 26th November we hosted the Grand Opening of 47 Carden Drive, Cannington. A Prestige Apartment complex with 24 one and two bedroom apartments over three floors in the heart of Cannington, with it’s own Café on the lower level and office spaces available for rent.
The State Government is encouraging developments through zoning changes in the area as it has identified the need for high density housing to cope with increased and smaller households in the area. Shopping, services, employment, affordability and transportation are the key reasons that have been identified for the urban infill – especially close to Westfield Carousel Shopping Centre and Cannington Train Station.
