Winter is on the way, it’s time to turn your reticulation off. From the June 1st to August 31st the winter sprinkler ban takes effect. If you are reported to the Water Corporation for using your sprinklers during this time, there is a $100.00 fine which will be enforced by them, it is your responsibility to ensure that the reticulation system is switched off. You can still hand water the lawns and plants if they are in need of a drink.
Tips for hand watering
To save water try to cut down your shower time, make sure any leaks are reported to your Property Manager, turn the tap off while brushing your teeth, if you have a pool keep it covered, upgrade to a water efficient washing machine, mulch the garden beds, plug the sink when washing your veggies, ensure you have a full load in the dishwasher before use. This not only saves water it also saves on your water bill.
