Myths, Dangerous Animals, Insects and Fauna:  Starting with Myths… There are no such things as the Bunyip, Yowie, Drop Bear, Woggle, Dirawong or the yara-ma-yha-who. These are all old Aboriginal folk lore stories.

Kangaroos are widely spread throughout Australia but not found on your front lawn in suburbia (Bentley region) they are mainly found in the outback and outer suburbs of Perth at the zoo or wildlife park.  Crocodiles you will not find in our river systems or beaches we are too far south and the climate is too cold. Koalas are not located in Perth suburbia they are extremely rare to be see in the outback if you would like to see them you can go to the zoo or wildlife parks. Snakes are present in the Perth Metropolitan Area near overgrown grass and lakes. Spiders are found in all the area of Perth the Red back and White Tail are the most common deadly spiders if bitten. These spiders are found outside not inside the house. All other spiders are harmless and ALL spiders can be defeated with fly and insect spray.
